Another day, another demolition derby babe working her charms to sell more fried butter.
Be still my heart. Literally.
Note: take 100 percent pure sweet cream butter, whip it until it is light and fluffy, freeze it, then surrounds it with dough. Drop the butter-laden dough balls into a deep fryer (whether the oil is clean or has been frying up bacon, twinkies or turkey legs is entirely up to you).
For purists seeking the unadulterated taste of butter, serves plain. For others who want a little more pizzazz, feel free to flavor your batter with garlic, bacon fat or coke syrup. (sigh)

Another day, another girl waiting for falafel in the style of Vermeer
Vermeer was at the Met. Moira was waiting for a falafel in the West Village. Inspiration meets muse and does a happy dance.

My 98 year old "Bubbe" goofing with us
Took the kids to California and spent time with my grandmother, their great-grandmother.
I probably took 500 pics of her and after a while she and my kids got tired of the constant shutter clicks. They got her going, making all sorts of faces at me, ending with the shot on the right (she had no idea what it meant until the kids explained it to her)
Then she said "I would never do that to your father."
To which they responded "why not. People do it to him in NY all the time."

Rebehka-Prisca
Rebekka or Bekka as her new friends call her arrived here in NYC from Namibia 4 months ago. She was watching her children play in the nearby park and I was captivated by her presence.
So being the friendly guy I am, I walked over and asked if I could take some pictures of her. We got to talking and she asked to see some of my other photos. Fortunately I always travel with my laptop. Her father is a journalist in Africa working for Reuters traveling from country to country with a photographer buddy so that helped drive our conversation and her comfort level. She quickly started comparing the folks walking by to animals from back home. She was wickedly funny while being almost angelically beautiful.
